Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change (MoEUCC) has reportedly provided important new clarifications concerning KKDIK registrations, customs controls and the approaching 30 September 2026 deadline.

According to information from the MoEUCC, the Ministry of Trade will conduct customs checks to verify KKDIK registration compliance. Importers should ensure that the name of the Turkish importer or only representative (OR), together with the relevant registration numbers, is clearly communicated for customs purposes.

Pending applications accepted after deadline

Companies must submit the required temporary or full registration application by 30 September 2026. However, if an application has been submitted by the deadline but is still awaiting Ministry approval and the assignment of a notification number, the application number will reportedly be sufficient after the deadline.

This clarification is particularly important for companies concerned that delays in the Ministry’s processing of submitted applications could result in the interruption of imports after 30 September.

High-tonnage deadline extended to 2028

The Ministry has also reportedly confirmed that substances manufactured or imported at 1,000 tonnes or more per year and covered by a valid temporary registration will have their full registration deadline automatically postponed from 31 December 2026 to 31 December 2028.

Companies should therefore ensure that applications are submitted by 30 September 2026, and that the relevant importer, OR and registration details can be readily provided during customs checks.

The Ministry has not yet published a formal notice or legal amendment reflecting these latest clarifications. Further official documentation is therefore awaited.
