The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has opened a six-week public consultation on proposals to identify nine additional substances or groups of substances as substances of very high concern (SVHCs) under UK REACH. Interested parties can submit comments on the identity and hazardous properties of the proposed SVHCs until 20 August 2026.
These proposals follow the recent addition of the first substances to the UK REACH Candidate List since the UK's departure from the European Union. The table below shows the substances, the basis for their proposed identification as SVHCs and when they were added to the EU Candidate list. If adopted, the nine proposed entries will be added to the UK REACH Candidate List.
