Thailand Opens Hazardous-Substance Registration Renewal Window
Reference source : Department of Industrial Works Thailand
Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works has opened a renewal window for qualifying hazardous-substance registrations. Applications reportedly became available on 3 October 2026, with affected registrants advised to complete renewal by 30 November 2026.
The process is relevant to manufacturers, importers, distributors and other businesses holding registrations under the Hazardous Substance Act B.E. 2535. Maintaining the required authorization may be necessary to continue manufacturing, importing, exporting, possessing or supplying a controlled substance.
Registration Scope
The announcement should not be interpreted as requiring every company handling hazardous chemicals in Thailand to renew its authorization by 30 November. Applicability depends on the type of authorization, its expiry date, the regulated substance and the activity covered.
Companies should review their registration numbers, responsible authority, product or substance scope and validity period. Businesses using a Thai importer or distributor should obtain confirmation that the entity responsible for registration has completed the renewal process.
Renewal Preparation
Registrants should verify the application form, supporting documents and electronic filing procedure through the Department of Industrial Works’ submission system. Changes to company information, formulation, substance identity or responsible personnel may require additional documentation.
Failure to maintain a registration could affect continuity of importation or supply. Businesses should therefore resolve incomplete applications before the reported 30 November deadline.
Verification Qualification
The original dated DIW notice has not been independently retrieved. The application period and affected registrations should therefore be confirmed directly with DIW before relying on the dates for a mandatory filing.
