Active Substance Approval (BPR) Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) Biocides Renewal Application Validation Assistant
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has reminded companies that, from 1 July 2026, all applications to renew approvals for biocidal active substances under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) must include approval data in IUCLID format.
Approval Data Must Be Submitted in IUCLID Format
According to ECHA, this requirement applies to all approval data, including data from the initial active substance application. The Agency notes that the use of IUCLID is intended to improve data accessibility, support chemical risk assessments, streamline the approval process and facilitate future automated reporting.
ECHA encourages applicants to use IUCLID’s Validation Assistant to identify missing or incomplete information before submitting renewal applications. The Agency also notes that additional mandatory validation rules are being developed for inclusion in the next IUCLID release, expected in October 2026.
