ECHA CHEM CLP Regulation C&L Inventory Notifier Names Confidentiality Request Article 42 of CLP Classification and Labelling
From 1 July 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will begin publishing the names of companies linked to active Classification and Labelling (C&L) notifications in the C&L Inventory within ECHA CHEM. The publication of notifier names follows amendments introduced under the revised CLP Regulation and is intended to support greater transparency and facilitate agreement on classification and labelling entries for the same substance.
Confidentiality Requests Due by 30 June 2026
Companies wishing to keep their name confidential must submit an updated notification including a confidentiality request and justification by 30 June 2026. According to ECHA, notifier names will be published as lists linked to individual substances and classification entries. Where a notification has been submitted by a group of manufacturers or importers, only the name of the notifier acting on behalf of the group will be displayed.
ECHA has also published a video tutorial and Q&A explaining how companies can submit confidentiality requests for notifier names under Article 42 of the CLP Regulation. Additional information on the publication of notifier details in the C&L Inventory is available here.
