On May 22, 2026, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule extending the reporting deadline for the Health and Safety Data Reporting Rule under Section 8(d) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) by one year.
Extended Reporting Timeline
Under the final rule, the reporting deadline has been moved to May 21, 2027, providing affected entities with additional time to gather and submit the required health and safety data. The rule became effective on May 22, 2026.
Purpose of the Extension
The extension is intended to provide regulated entities with more time to comply with reporting obligations and ensure the accurate submission of health and safety information required under TSCA.
Regulatory Impact
Organizations subject to the Health and Safety Data Reporting Rule will benefit from the extended timeline while maintaining their obligation to submit the required information. No new reporting requirements have been introduced through this action.
