Scope of the Standard
The revised standard prescribes:
Requirements for ammonium sulphate, technical grade
Methods of sampling and testing
The material covered under this standard is classified into the following three types:
Type 1 - For leather processing
Type 2 - For water treatment
Type 3 - For explosives and ammunition
The material shall also comply with the requirements in the table below,

Key Changes Incorporated in the Revision
The following key modifications have been introduced:
Instrumental test methods for the determination of iron and arsenic have been incorporated in the revision to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and alignment with modern laboratory practices.
A dedicated reference clause has been added to improve clarity and ensure better harmonization with related standards.
The packing and marking provisions have been updated in the revision to ensure better compliance and traceability.
Comments on the draft should be submitted in the prescribed template via the BIS portal. In case no comments are received by the deadline, approval will be presumed.
