EPA Updates Safer Chemical Ingredients List with Addition of 18 New Chemicals
On July 2025, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the addition of 18 chemicals to the Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL), advancing Administrator Zeldin’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and safer chemistry.
Without EPA’s approval under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), new chemicals cannot enter the market. This slows down manufacturing and innovation, while keeping older chemicals in use.
SCIL Additions Offer Safer Alternatives
Adding existing chemicals to the Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL) additions support consumers, businesses, and buyers choose chemicals that are among the safest for their intended uses and manufacturers find safer options that meet the Safer Choice program’s criteria
