Basic principles and developments in South Korea’s cosmetic regulations

South Korea recently updated its cosmetic regulations and some of the new product categories will fall into the cosmetic sector from January.  Also, 'Customized cosmetic certified person' will be able to broaden their work scope to accelerate this industry area. Functional product filing will be simplified as there will be wider testing exemptions. There will also be some additions to the colorants list and test methods, accordingly. Last of all, due to Covid-19 pandemic compliance, the MFDS will delay the deadlines or allow an installment plan.
