On March 19, 2026, Taiwan’s International Trade Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, announced new trade control measures for perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) and related substances. From April 1, 2026, certain goods classified under Taiwan’s Commodity Classification Code (CCC) will be subject to additional import and export regulation codes, thereby strengthening customs enforcement and aligning with environmental management requirements.
New import and export control requirements
From 1 April 2026, seven goods, including those classified under CCC code 2904.99.00.20-1, will be assigned new import regulation codes 508, 553 or 847. In parallel, six goods will be subject to export regulation code 533.
The affected products will also be added to the customs-assisted inspection lists for both imports and exports, enabling monitoring by customs authorities.
Substances and legal basis
The measures apply to PFHxS, its salts, and related substances, including PFHxS sulfonyl halides.
This announcement is based on Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations Governing Import and Export of Goods and refers to a letter issued by the Chemicals Administration under the Ministry of Environment on 23 February 2026.
