EU REACH REACH Registration Dossier Update Harmonised Classification Chemical Classification and Labelling
On 28 January 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced plans to launch two campaigns to check whether REACH registration dossiers are being kept up to date in line with regulatory requirements.
According to ECHA, the first campaign will focus on joint submissions where the lead registrant has changed, but the new lead registrant has not yet submitted a complete and updated set of information on behalf of the joint submission. The second campaign will target registrations that do not reflect EU-wide harmonised classifications under the CLP Regulation.
Update obligations under REACH
ECHA highlights that registrants must ensure their REACH registration dossiers are kept up to date and accurately reflect the latest available information. This includes updates related to substance composition, tonnage bands, identified uses, and classification and labelling.
As part of the campaigns, ECHA will contact the concerned registrants directly and request that they update their registrations within a specified timeframe.
