On March 31, 2026, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China released a draft announcement for public consultation, proposing updates to the registration and notification requirements for cosmetics. The draft was developed to implement the policy outlined in the Opinions on Deepening Cosmetics Regulatory Reform and Promoting High-Quality Industry Development (2025 No. 18), which was issued by the NMPA.
